VAT return for hospitality, without the calculations

Your till knows exactly how much you sold per VAT rate. Combined with your booked purchases, the return is ready box by box.

The problem: hospitality VAT is tricky

Food at 9%, alcohol at 21%, deposits without VAT and tips outside revenue. Sorting that out by hand easily leads to mistakes that are costly in an audit.

How it works

  1. 1

    Revenue from the till

Every sale is recorded per rate. Tips and deposits are kept separate.

  2. 2

    Input VAT from purchases

VAT on your approved purchase invoices counts automatically as input VAT.

  3. 3

    Ready per box

Each quarter you see which amounts go in boxes 1a, 1b and 5b and how much you pay or get back.

  4. 4

    PDF and correction

Download the overview as PDF. If an invoice arrives later for a closed period, you get correction advice.

What you gain

  • Return in minutes instead of hours
  • No manual maths with 9% and 21%
  • Tips correctly outside revenue
  • Correction advice for later changes
  • Always see the current VAT position

Real-world example

At quarter end the owner opens the VAT card: € 41,200 revenue at 9%, € 18,600 at 21% and € 4,950 input VAT. The amount due is already there; he copies the boxes and is done.

Frequently asked questions

Is the return filed automatically?

No, you copy the amounts per box into the tax office portal. That way you stay in control.

What is a correction?

A change to an earlier return, for example when an invoice arrives later. The system works out whether one is needed.

How are tips handled?

Tips are recorded separately and are not part of VAT revenue.
